About Tom Treumuth

Over his 40-year career in the music industry, Tom Treumuth has built an extensive background as a producer, talent scout, label executive, songwriter, and artist manager. Early in his career, Tom studied classical music and later completed a three-year Production and Engineering program at Fanshawe College in Ontario. During that time, he formed the progressive rock band True Myth, where he began developing his talents as a band leader, producer, and manager. The band would go on to record the world’s first digital rock album on the Warner Records label, marking an important milestone in recording history.

Following the release of the True Myth album, Tom expanded his work as a producer and industry entrepreneur. Over the decades he has produced more than 60 albums, with eight achieving Gold and Platinum status, including releases by Honeymoon Suite, Helix, and Big Sugar. His independent Hypnotic label released over 100 albums across multiple genres through A&M and Universal, featuring artists such as Big Sugar, Anvil, Voivod, Figgy Duff, the Look People, Grimskunk, Chris Spedding and many others.

Throughout his career Tom has worked across many areas of the industry. He served as a talent scout for RCA in New York, was signed as a songwriter to RCA Publishing, owned and operated a recording studio, and worked as a booking agent. His passion for artist development also led him into management, where he worked with artists including Honeymoon Suite, Lee Aaron, U.S. platinum rock band Steelheart, and Hamilton-born artist Kazzer (Pedal to the Metal), whom he signed to Columbia Records in New York.

Tom also managed and co-produced the rock band Gypsy Rose, signing them to RCA in New York and working closely with Gene Simmons. More recently, he served as Co-Managing Director of the independent label Frostbyte (Universal), where he was involved in signing acts such as Headstones and Matt Good. Beyond the traditional music business, Tom has also contributed to the broader creative industry as co-founder of Latitude 44, a technology conference in Toronto, and as Artistic Director for Estonian Music Week.
